Quality and speed

Who will translate my text?

Professional Translation works exclusively with professional translators who have years of experience translating. That's why your text is in safe hands with us.

How long will my translation take?

As soon as you have entered your text or uploaded your document, we will give you an estimate of the time it will take to process your translation. This estimate is based on the number of words to translate. Texts up to 2000 words may be returned as quickly as within 24 hours. For longer texts, allow approximately 2000 words a day.

Do you need your translation sooner? Just contact us and we will do our best to help you meet your deadline.

When does the translation start?

During business hours, one of our professional translators will start working on your translation immediately after you submit your order. Please note that business hours in the region/country where your target language is spoken may differ from your local business hours.

What happens if I’m not 100% satisfied?

We guarantee top quality, so if you’re not completely satisfied, let us know. We'll re-translate immediately or refund your money.

How will I know when my translation is finished?

You will receive an e-mail containing a link which will take you directly to your translation.

Rates

How much will it cost?

After you submit your text, you receive a free quote within seconds – committing you to nothing. The price for your translation is automatically calculated based on the number of words and the combination of original and target language. This is a fixed price – no additional costs or surprises afterwards.

Do I need to pay sales tax?

If you are based in the Netherlands, a sales tax of 19% applies. If you are not based in the Netherlands, you don’t need to pay sales tax.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, your text may not contain less than 20 words, or amount to less than $25 or €18.


Payment

How do I pay?

There are four ways to pay:

•    Credit card
•    PayPal
•    iDeal
•    Invoice (in this case, we charge an administrative fee of € 7 or $ 10)

Which credit cards can I use?
     
We accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is a very safe and easy way to pay online. It allows you to pay online using the payment method you prefer (e.g. credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Amex), bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances), without sharing financial information.

What is iDeal?

iDeal is a Dutch payment service that links you directly to your online banking application. iDeal is a very safe and easy way to pay online.

Will you send me a receipt?

You can indicate that you need an official invoice/receipt for your accounting records when ordering your translation. We will send an invoice/receipt to your e-mail address.

Security/Confidentiality

Who sees my document?

The text or document(s) you submit for translation are viewed only by the translator.

How can I be sure that the confidential information in my document remains confidential?

All our translators sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before they start working with us.

Is Professional Translation secure?

Yes. We simply can’t afford not to be. Your security and that of your data is a priority for us. We won’t bore you with the technical details, but using Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) technology is just one of the measures we take to ensure that Professional Translation is secure. What type of texts can I get translated by Professional Translation?

Professional Translation offers translations for a wide range of text types. We have an extensive network of highly skilled translators with experience and expertise in the following areas:

Can I upload more than one document?

Yes. You can upload up to 5 documents at a time. After you have uploaded a document, you can either continue to place your order or upload another document. Just browse for the second document, select your languages and click the "Upload file" button. Repeat this step for any further documents you want us to translate. By default, the languages you chose last are maintained. Of course you can change the languages for each document.

What file formats do you support?

We support the following file formats:

•    .mif (filtered FrameMaker)
•    .inx (InDesign conversion)
•    Quark

Please note that text embedded in graphics, headers and footers is not recognized as part of the text to be translated. So, if your document contains text embedded in graphics, headers and footers, the word count may not be accurate. In that case we will contact you to let you know the price difference before proceeding.

Does Professional Translation accept zipped files?

No.

My file type is not listed. Can Professional Translation translate my document?

If you have a different file type (e.g. Publisher, Quark, etc.) simply upload it to our website and we will provide an estimate within 1 workday.

Who can I contact if I have trouble uploading my document?

If you encounter problems uploading your document, please contact us. We will find a solution and get back to you as soon as possible.
